It’s been a busy year for Robert Pattinson, who spent much of his time shuffling through airports in Vancouver, Toronto, St. Thomas, London and Los Angeles as he shotBreaking Dawn and Cosmopolis, promoted Water for Elephants and hung out with his better half. In between all the traveling and guitar-lugging, Rob fit in an eventful year filled with magazine covers (Amish Hat, never forget), an adopted dog-child, a bevy of gorgeous Gucci suits and a memorable Movie Awards appearance filled with F-bombs and awkward jokes. We salute the Year in Rob with our favorite photos and moments, below.
Rob started of 2011 cuddling with girlfriend Kristen Stewart in the Isle of Wight, which has been their go-to getaway spot for the past two years. Will they make it a threepeat in 2012? We hope so, if only for cute fan pics like this:
He then gave us a taste of the red carpet goodness that was to come throughout the year with this fap-worthy appearance at the Golden Globes. Rob in a suit never gets old. It.Never.Gets.Old.
In February Rob was landed in Vancouver wearing this MTV letterman jacket. As MTV Network employees, our hearts were singing with pride. Go team!
The Breaking Dawn set was in serious lockdown, but sometimes Rob and Kristen snuck out for dates, like the night they went and saw Red Riding Hood at the local movie theater. So sweet that they support Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, isn’t it? After all, their relationship essentially started on her bed.
Rob also adopted a puppy from a shelter, named him Bear, bought him a blue leash and made him the most popular dog in the world. Come March, there was the infamously Amish-esque Vanity Fair cover, shot by Annie Liebovitz. It was the first time we’ve ever been envious of an alligator.
His fellow Brit Adele, winner of all the awards, called him a national treasure.
Breaking Dawn shooting went well into spring, with Rob jetting down to St. Thomas to film some sexy-time shots with Kristen. Spoiler alert: THEY MADE OUT IN THE WATER AND IT WAS HOT.
We were also able to check “See Robert Pattinson in a wet suit and water shoes” off our Bucket List.
In April, we slow clapped when he called the person(s) who hacked and leaked aBreaking Dawn video “little sh*ts.”
That same month we fast clapped for Water for Elephants, which Rob promoted tirelessly around the globe – pausing only to kiss his girlfriend very publicly.
We swooned.
At the NYC premiere, his esteemed co-star Hal Holbrook called him a “modest young man,” when we interviewed him at the NY premiere. But you guys knew that, cuz Dick and Clare have raised him right!

We listened to the same ol’ Jeff Buckley biopic rumors over and over again, until Penn Badgley and Reeve Carney landed the roles in the competing films.
On May 13, we toasted Rob on his 25th birthday, celebrated his giggle, hair-stroking habit and general adorableness.
In June he was in full on ROB MODE at the MTV Movie Awards, kissing Taylor Lautner, dropping F bombs left and right and generally making his girlfriend drop her head in her hands with a smile, which is one of the cutest KStewisms around.
The summer was sweet for Rob’s fans, as we enjoyed weeks of him filming Cosmopolisin Toronto in the sexiest slicked hair and suit get-up we’d ever seen.
Also, he wore the hell out of some red pants.
And was his usual sweet self, signing autographs for fans at 4 in the morning — every morning. With a smile, no less! This guyyyy.
Rob headed to ComicCon in July with a haircut only he could make sexy.
And made Kristen laugh as he shared a tale of biting a baby’s head.
The Bel Ami trailer and a bunch of sexy stills also dropped in the summer — finally! — which led to us spending months yelling “I will RUIN you!” at every person who crossed our path. Also, holy ballz does this movie look hot. (Thanks to the readers who noticed we had originally missed Bel Ami in our recap. Our bad! We just spaced.)
In August, he hit up the Teen Choice Awards and laid low for a bit, furniture shopping around L.A. for his new home.
More importantly, he grew a BEARD. A nod to BFF Tom “I hide treats in my beard because it’s so bloody big” Sturridge, we’re sure.
The fall was all about Breaking Dawn, and Rob hit up Europe with co-star Ashley Greene to promote the flick.
He spent some time in London visiting Kristen and lugging a giant pile of suitcases back home with him to L.A. Oh, what we wouldn’t give to see what’s inside of them. (Cookbooks, Converse, guitar picks and homemade dog treats, we’d guess.)
Rob chatted with David Letterman, and every other talk show host imaginable.
Ann Curry even told him he has a beautiful girlfriend, to which we were like, “Duh, Ann.”

But the real promo fun began when Rob joined Kristen and Taylor at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre for their hand and footprint ceremony, a huge honor in Hollywood.
In addition to putting his hands in cement, he also put them all over Kristen as the couple flirted openly for their fans’ enjoyment. And ours.
At the L.A. premiere, we talked to Rob and producer Wyck Godfrey about the projects they’re collaborating on together. Musicians on the soundtrack gushed over his musical talent and we learned that Rob heavily influenced a key scene in the film.
Rob, Kristen and Taylor stunned at the London premiere of the film; we enjoyed the intimate moments between the stars the best. You guys know the truth: we be fangirlin’.
And later in the week, Rob joined buddy Taylor at the Berlin and Barcelona premieres and proved once again that a handsome man can make some seriously ridiculous faces.
He finished up the month back in London at the home he shares with his lady love. He was spotted out and about with a briefcase, which made us speculate about possible business meetings. But hey, maybe he just likes lookin’ profesh?
Rob’s back in Los Angeles for the time being, while we wait with baited breath to learn about his next career move. (Fingers crossed that he’s writing a screenplay!) Regardless of what it is, we’re confident 2012 is going to be big for the Brit – Cosmopolis is set to premiere and he’s got Breaking Dawn: Part 2 promotion down the line. Not to mention he’s got a gal, a dog, writing and music projects and lots of sitting to do on that really cool bench he bought at TINI. Not a bad way to spend the next year!
